by the way~Have to have Andy as I have used Brillo pads in the past.
For those folks who do not know, they are scouring pads, used for cleaning dishes, and made from steel wool impregnated with soap. They first appeared in 1913 as aluminium pots and pans were replacing cast iron in the kitchen.
Not sure whether they are packaged in boxes anymore. The last ones I bought were in plastic container.
