The VF-1S Valkyrie, as it appears in the film, is identical to the version seen in television save for minor hull color differences (most notably the colored "arrows" on either side of the head). The majority of VF-1 variable fighters in the Macross film appear with FAST Packs equipped, but those sequences featured in the atmosphere show VF-1 fighters sans FAST Packs. In the film, Roy's VF-1S never appears without the "Strike" system equipped, but this VF-1S version without added equipment is included here simply because the line art was available. It is important to note that VF-1 fighters in the Macross movie are never seen using AMM-1 missiles from the television series and are instead armed with UUM-7 Micro Missile pods, even when deployed in the atmosphere.
