when I was child, I have a period would collect the boxes, then I changed to collect the cover art. However, after 10yrs, I still throw them. So I only collect the assemble manuals now...
i.e. you need to restart your life of modeling ...
changed to "enjoy" OOB + marker/hand painting, or you should 戒({:1_232:} ) model kits...
an OOB model kit (with topcoat) still better that toy ver. if you could enjoy "OOB", a box of MG just spend you 1-2days...

however, I am looking for the model kit ver. of VF-1D (the orange one for trainee). btw, I have made Bandai's kits several months ago. But
