Mr. Nimoy always making noise to keep him under the spotlight, don't take his words seriously, he said he dislike spock many years ago, still he played the old spock in the new star trek.
That episode is very very weird. Looks like it is not X-file. After that they tried more, like having Moulder to tell the story first, then have Scary to tell the same one from another angle. These are repeated used in Milliemium.
