I actually seeked advise from SupermXX and took a photo of their cabinet for reference.
I adopted the light setting and display glasses from SupermXX, and asked my designer to complete the design.

You may not see the depth & width of this cabinet as ~1/3 of it is hidden behind the display cabinet next to it.

I dun get it when you said "1/3 of it is hidden behind the display cabinet next to it." Do you mean there are extra storage space behind the display shells? Or the display cabinet is moveable? :?:

Since my storage cabinet (S) was connected to the display cabinet (D) next to it, the interconnecting 1.5 ft x 8 ft x 22in space ( shaded parts) would be hidden behind the side wall of the display cabinet.

Yes, but small area is reserved for books.
All the other spaces are for toys.
