YES, definitely.
My old NEXT V3 clothing broke when I move the shoulder.
Luckily I just bought another new 2011 version..............
After this, I stopped bending the joints too much for all rider with PVC clothes, e.g. old rider no 1/2, FIRST/NEXT 1,2,V3, black, Hakaider etc.

The case would be worser if you store inside box.
Displaying is better than storing it.
Nearly all Hakaider will have melting of cloth if the belt is on.
The cloth will stick onto the back of belt.
Remember to add a scotch tape to the back of all belt, otherwise, the belt may stick to the cloth or the paint of cloth will stain the belt. e.g  NEXT V3.

放得耐都係會老化，時間問題，所以平時唔玩放係櫃不要擺大動作。

PVC is kind of plastic which is elastic, which means it's unstable in material terms. So, it's unstable and will be deformed one day. It depends on where they placed it, temperature and humidity also a factor affecting their life span.  It's unavoidable!
However, every kind of material has it's life span and nature. Even rock and stone is deforming all the time.
So, it's really not a big deal to think that your toys needed to be a "long life " than ourselves. Our sons won't keep them to play, or might be a just a memory! Neither we needed a "unbreakable" toys to be with us until we reach our elderly years!
Easy, brothers! Have fun brothers!
Better not treat toys as an asset, or a investment commodity!
It's only for fun!  
Family , Health,  joy & peace is the best area we needed to invest!
Sorry hope I am not too "long air"!
