:78: first some basic assumption, i.e wify works full time,
My experience is that for 1/3 dolls, I tend to do order these directly from japan, e.g Volks only sell direct and ship internationally, Azone can be tricky, nonetheless with the number of eforwarders it's not as difficult as a couple of years back where you have to rely on a friend in Japan, or order via a specialist shop locally... once the item has been shipped via EMS, which usually takes 2-3 days to get here, track it closely, once it touch down in HK, call post office and ask them to provide an ETA, and beg them to call you prior to delivery, once Mr. Postman call, :43: take whatever way to reach home within half an hour, and DingDong, time to welcome your newly adopted daughter, this way the item is delivered to your home, no need to sneak in, :35: if you have time to join a doll party, don't be surprise that 1/3 has a huge base of female fans.
Likewise, consider sharing this amazing hobby with your partner... It's great fun... Soon she will appreciate the true craftsman ship.
Or explain to her from an Investment perspective that today nearly 90% of hobby goods are manufactured in China, the only exception is 1/3 where its truly a piece of art made from the land of the raising sun:78: it will become a rare collector items in the mid to long run. E.g Volks DD is actively traded in the secondary market for both new and pre-owned :36:
Speaking of life size 1:1 seamless dolls you really have to give credit to the Japanese :64: e.g Orient-Doll offers a collection of life size dolls and it's true an art form :46: |
