I just took a browse at macrossworld.com.. found transformable macross robots from Studio Halfeye!It's a surprise that I found some planes that didn't really appear in the macross cartoon.

S.H.E. with YAMATO
Actually the reason why transformation system of S.H.E is similar as YAMATO is mainly due to the fact that YAMATO has purchased the license from S.H.E for VF-11, YF-19 and YF-21 series.S.H.E is a resin model kit production company which is also selling its design to MODEL COMPANY of JAPAN for MASTER (MASS) production.
The up new coming 1/60 of YAMATO series still has alot of unknown.
Actually the quality of 1/60 compare with 1/48 is not too bad and there are also much more metalic compnent inside 1/60 series. However, the need for removable parts during transforming is bas commend by MACROSS fans.
For YAMATO 08" project, there should be :-
1/48 series
YF-21
VF-11
1/60 series
Vf-1
By the way,
VF series is the meaning of MASS PRODUCTION & USED series
YF series is still under testing (Pro-type version)

JOHN John.. what a detailed & complete info you have about macross.. I'm only familiar with the planes from the original macross, macross plus & macross zero; I don't know much about the others such as macross 2, macross 7, etc.Neither I know that Yamato actually bought the license from Studio Halfeye.
As recommended by Douglas m. saint in this photo posting thread, I made my mind to get my first yamato macross product ---- 25th anniversary 1/60YF-19.I like the style quite alot though, I have already spent an hour but still trying to figure out how to transform it to the full battroid mode (i'm stucked on the first step of pg.11 of the manual..).I wanna try to use more force yet kinda afraid to break the parts.. damn.

Transformation of the YF-19 is relatively straightforward with only one tricky part, which is getting the upper arms and elbow joints in the correct position when transforming to fighter mode. While not particularly difficult, it can be time consuming as it is possible to get the pivoting "unlocked" elbow joint upside down.
I've included some photos below, which show the correct way that the upper arms and elbows should be positioned in fighter mode. Just follow the photos and you should be good. Oh, and remember to push up the bicep covers when transforming to fighter mode.
I would say that out of all Yamato's toys, the YF-19 probably has the sturdiest fighter mode, as it locks together extremely well.
One other point to note is that when opening the front canopy, or when transforming to Battroid mode, ensure that the black anti-glare section located in front of the canopy is pushed down.
The backpack of the YF-19 is a two piece sliding unit, which extends longer for Battroid mode and collapses shorter for Fighter & GERWALK modes. The larger upper backpack section has long rectangular pegs on both sides which slide up and down in plastic slots on the smaller lower backpack section. Sometimes during transformation, especially if you are transforming too quickly or roughly, the upper and lower backpack halves may separate. DON'T WORRY! The toy is NOT broken. Given the tolerances of ABS, Yamato could only make the side walls of the "U" shaped lower backpack section so tight. When your backpack does come apart (and it will), simply slot the upper backpack back into the tracks in the lower backpack and carry on. Nothing to worry about!

FRIENDLY WARNING :-
Since Yamato Toys is made by plastic and the joint really not as strong as expected, so during the transformation should be awared.
Some of the broken cases have been reported in MACROSS Forum in which the joint of head had been cracked!
