Truth -espcially if u r talking about American toys - such as starwars. It is good to see the toys and check for them. That is why I still visit toy shops once in a while...  I also believe America has better toys distribution than Canada or other european countries.
However the (japanese toys) price gap between the local shops and online retails are too big in Canada.

As I could see, when people in America showing off their new toys on their toy forum, I still see nothing in Australia.... Even they eventually showed up in the local stores, the amount and choice of the toys just couldn't compare with USA........The worst case is that I'll never see a particular item in Aus ><"

It depends on regent to regent.  NY is probably the last place to get anything.  Places, especially cities, have a lot of competition.  If you snooze you lose.  I understand though, probably still better than Australia.

Distribution for Mattel in US, however, is still horrible.  New York City has no Walmart, and Wal-mart basically has a monopoly on toys sometimes.  I collect DC Universe and there are waves that Toys R Us or Target seem to never get.
