小櫻好厲害, got 1st issue of A-Club and last issue of 漫周. Thank you for digging them up. I have about 150-200 issues (up until the last issue) of 漫周 too. I still remember I was really really depressed when 漫周 was "folded". Many old memories... I moved to U.S. from HK in 1983 (a real old cake). At the time I had to drive from U.S. to a book store in Canada to pick up my 漫周 and "Chinese Hero" every month (around 1986).
I have to agree 漫周 d 翻譯 is very good and acurrate. Another advantage they had at the time was they followed the weekly comics in Japan. I think 漫周 really served its generation at the time and created a big fan base for Japanese comics and anime, old cakes liked me that cannot read Japanese and couldn't afford to buy Japanese publication when they were young. These are also the people who purchase a lot of anime toys now.
joseph_chong, I of course 記得”香港動畫節. It was during 1988 at 舊利舞台. I was on vacation in HK that summer. 好感動!!!
