"Eight feet wide, it's 13 feet high. It weighs more than 1,900 pounds," exclaimed Legoland spokeswoman Julie Estrada.
The Star Wars Death Star, which has more than 500,000 Lego bricks, was officially unveiled Thursday inside the park's Miniland exhibit.
"It would take me one year to build by myself," said Lego Master Model Builder Robbie McCarthy.
"Legoland always comes up with something new," said Estrada.
Brand Finance just ranked Lego ahead of such companies as Nike and Coca-Cola as the most powerful brand in the world. Legoland's parent company, Merlin Entertainments, was just named one of the top 15 employers.
"It only means growth for Carlsbad and bringing more business for Carlsbad," Estrada said.◂
