Years ago….
- 刀剑笑 used 3 - 4 issues to tell us a “金黄色的梦”…. with not much story development, but letting us understand the characteristic of 名剑 and fall in love with the character.
- 中华英雄 uses 50 - 60 issues to build up the character 无敌 until the final battle with 华英雄, which make the final battle alot more meaningful to us readers.
- 黑豹 took almost 50 issues just to bring across the storyline of 三分天下
But nowadays, most of the comics no longer waste time to do all these.. Once the sales drop, there must be a BIG FIGHT. If not, the old characters must come out to prevent the sales from further dropping. (Like 风云 still have to be around after 600 issues)
Within one issue, the storyline is break into 4 - 5 different sub plot, but we then realize that actually after 50 issues, the story plot have not changes at all and there is totally no character build up. Therefore, without a proper development of the characters and the story plot, how can we readers feel involve in the story…..
I sincerely hope that things will go back to how it was in the past…
