I don't know Japanese, I have gone to Japan for 14 times by myself.
I even went to WF and bought resin casts without using any Japanese dialogue.

問路: only once during my first trip to Japan when I was in my undergrad. 3rd year.
Well preparation for toy shop address and map would be enough.
叫o野食: point or buy ticket from ticket machine.
Buying in WF or C3: prepare ~50000 yen, then pointat the itme and give the money to the seller immediately.
No second thought, otherwise the item will disappear soon. ( only one day sell in WF or C3)

小弟上次去日本(2004年初)，都臨急抱佛腳，即時睇書(坐飛機、巴士或電車)學左幾個簡單日文字。例如：你好、早晨、午安、晚安、好食、唔好意思、埋單、我係香港人等等呢D一般香港人普遍都識既日文，都算勉強夠用，其他唔識或想搵人幫手，就拎住本書、指住本書D圖同日文問人。不過依家某D大型百貨如Sakuraya，售貨員都識講一D簡單但要好留心聽既英文，因為日本人講英文發音同我地好唔同，但酒店職員英文好好多。無記錯買滿1萬日元(keep單)可以退稅，而好多大公司都有退稅櫃位，果時同個staff講左好耐、聽得好辛苦，終於都去到退稅櫃位退稅。
不過到今時今日，以上既野可能有變。:shy:

For me, I would try to go to Japan only in August in order to attend C3 or WF!

GGGG bigbig, I decide to attend WF summer in August la and I have booked the airtickets lu :58:  The package price is not low this year. The cost of everything rises quite significantly.  :42:
