I have recently had a problem with online auction fraud at Yahoo! auction, when I tried to contact Yahoo!'s representatives for assistance, they told me to contact '香港警務處' for assistance.
Then when I tried to contact 香港警務處 (at Tsuen Wan police station), their respond was that my case is related to '消費投訴', and they do not accept '消費投訴' cases, please contact '消費者委員會'.
Then when I tried to contact 消費者委員會, their respond was that online auction such as Yahoo! or Ebay auction are 'personal' sales, and not a 'company vs. consumer' problem, please contact '小額錢債審裁處'.
Then when I tried to contact 小額錢債審裁處, their respond was that I need the seller's address for them to accept my case. The address of auction seller are normally only known to the auction website, which is Yahoo!. So I contacted Yahoo's representatives again for the seller's address, and after weeks of delay, I got the following bull crap from Yahoo!'s representatives:
"由於地址屬於個人資料,基於個人資料(私隱)條例,請恕我們未能夠提供給予第
三者。如果您發現有欺詐或違法行為,可聯絡香港警務處提供協助。若我們收到警方要求提供協助,我們會盡量配合。"
So basically in a case of online auction fraud, it can get no where.
Yahoo! > HK Police > Consumer Council > Small Claims Tribunal > Yahoo! > HK Police > Consumer Council > Small Claims Tribunal ... |
