Received this 35MAX Scopedog Assault this SAT. Very fast shipment from the Japanese online seller.
Applying the Scuba head and body onto the old Rane custom. Can see glossiness difference.
The first 2 Commando Vorct dogs are semi-glossy. The later ones including the weapon set are more mat.
There’s no any movement on the Scuba head and body, lens can’t move. But the front and back lens are clear parts.
Comparing the MAX and the CMs ones.
Before I got the MAX one, I’ve bought the CMs one and found it not very satisfying.
MAX one:
Overall is good, QC is good, Joints are fine enough (this time even the ankle joints are tighter, which is better). Nicely sculpted and detailed enough.
Lens can turn left/right, can’t rotate though. All 10 piles can be “unplugged”. There are holes on both left and right arms for attaching pile bunker.
Pile Racks can be attached on both left and right leg and the butt. 2 circular covers are included to cover the attachment holes (not shown in photos)
The pile bunker/racks can be attached nicely to the attachment holes without much effort but still stay there firmly.
And I’ve accepted the cockpit can’t be opened, so it doesn’t bother me 1 bit.
CMs one:
Overall is not satisfying, I don’t know about QC on CMs product (since I don’t buy much), joints are fine,
Sculpture and details are not good enough (for example on weapons and legs)
The shittest point is the plastic. It feels so brittle. And when you wanna attach the pile bunker/racks onto the body,
it feels like you’re gonna break the attachment parts or the little handle-like parts (can see one is broken on photos)
And even the cockpit can be opened, the joints are shitly designed, looks so simple.
Comparing the new MAX Scopedog Assault and the old MAX Rane custom.
Head is smaller, lens is different, can turn, antenna is shorter too. Visor can be slightly tilted up/down since it’s a separate part.
Proportion is much better with this smaller head!! Semi-gloss paint as said before.
Different legs design, more weapon parts including for the pile bunker, and a set of Scuba head and body.
One side effect. Scopedog Light finally got his weapon to fight Excrevisse (stolen from the old Rane custom)~~ hahaha
About how I ordered this item from an online Japanese toy shop group.
http://event.rakuten.co.jp/borderless/index_en.html ß----- just type in the toys name in here and search.
It’ll then list out all the items (in different prices) all shops have.
Make your order and the shop will reply you a email telling you the shipping cost (in ENG). See whether you confirm or not.
And the later emails are not fully in ENG, but it’s OK.
I found mine at less than 69XX yen and the shipping cost is 2400 yen. It only takes 4 days from I made the order till receiving the parcel.
(But it’s the first time I use this樂天 website. So I’m not sure whether all the linked shops will do it the same way)
